Abena Pilates

Nina Carras has worked in the fitness and wellness industry for over 25 years, bringing extensive experience across major gyms, boutique studios, and private training settings. She earned her first comprehensive Pilates certification in 2006 under Kelly Kane at the Kane School of Core Integration, followed by additional credentials including American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, senior fitness certifications, and aqua exercise training.
After teaching in three Manhattan Equinox locations, Nina sought a deeper academic foundation and completed a second full Pilates certification through the Real Pilates Program as a bridge student under the direction of Alycea Ungaro. She has since taught at Real Pilates and Mind Your Body Fitness. She is known for her precise instruction, supportive teaching style, and commitment to helping clients build strong, sustainable movement patterns.

Abby has been involved in the fitness industry since 2012, starting as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor before becoming a classical Pilates instructor. Her passion for Pilates began after her first mat class, and she has been dedicated to it ever since. Abby loves witnessing the positive transformations Pilates brings to her students, helping them build strength, mobility, and confidence.
She earned her classical Pilates certification under Juliet Clingan at The Pilates Firm in Las Vegas and continues to learn from renowned instructors like Kathi Ross Nash. Abby also holds a BS in Radio-TV-Film from Texas Christian University, an MA in Creative Writing and Children’s Literature Theory from NYU, and an AAS in Fitness Technology and Exercise for Older Adults from Portland Community College. Outside of teaching, she enjoys writing and doodling.

Natasha is an internationally recognized dancer, actress, writer, and teacher. Most notably, she danced as a Principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company in New York City for 12 seasons. Natasha is a classical Pilates instructor who combines Joseph Pilates' original method with her own dance knowledge, movement rehabilitation, and kinesiology. Her calm demeanor and exacting eye for detail has made her a sensitive, and highly sought-after instructor. Clients working with Natasha can expect to grow stronger, increase their flexibility, decrease pain in their bodies, and feel more centered.

Dorita, a passionate yoga teacher and Ayurvedic mentor from Cali, Colombia, has over a decade of experience in these ancient practices. Her journey began with certification as a yoga instructor and six transformative years in an ashram, where she gained deep insights into spiritual practice. Dorita blends Yoga and Ayurveda in her teachings, creating holistic classes that incorporate breathwork, meditation, and Ayurvedic principles, helping students connect with themselves and nature. In 2024, she relocated to New York City, where she aims to inspire her community through authenticity, wellness, and spirituality, encouraging personal journeys of self-discovery and transformation.

Kiera Sullivan, a Registered Dietitian and Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner, helps clients achieve sustainable health by addressing the root causes of chronic symptoms like fatigue and digestive issues. Utilizing a non-diet, science-based approach, she combines medical nutrition therapy with behavior change counseling to restore core body systems and improve quality of life. With a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and a clinical background from institutions like Stanford University, she provides compassionate, individualized guidance to empower clients to move beyond symptom management toward long-term wellness.
We are located at the Avery on 100 Riverside Boulevard. Our entrance is on 64th street.
