The Pilates Apparatus Certification Program

Program Overview

This program is designed for certified instructors and apprentices ready to achieve a new level of expertise. Under the direct guidance of Senior Instructor Abena, you will gain a deep, practical understanding of traditional apparatus and teaching techniques that go far beyond textbooks.


You’ll receive hands-on training on the full suite of classical apparatus, including:

  • Reformer
  • Cadillac
  • Wunda Chair & Baby Chair
  • High Chair & Tower
  • Guillotine
  • All Barrels (Spine Corrector, Ladder, Small)

Program Breakdown

For Certified Instructor

Elevate your career and gain expertise of the classical studio with this comprehensive program designed for certified instructors. This unique curriculum combines personalized mentorship, extensive studio access, and in-depth seminars to transform your teaching practice.


1. Private Training Sessions

Refine your technique and apparatus usage with Abena, our senior instructor. Her personalized instruction is focused on preparing you for the expertise of the full classical studio experience.


A minimum of 20 private training sessions are required to begin the program. You can purchase them in bulk or in several installments at a preferential rate: 

  • 20 Sessions: $2,800 ($140/session)
  • 10 Sessions: $1,450 ($145/session)


2. Studio Access & Practice

Gain the in-studio experience that textbooks can't provide. This is your opportunity for immersive, hands-on learning.

  • 6-Month Studio Access: $375
  • Log a minimum of 50 hours of observation
  • Log a minimum of 50 hours of self-practice


3. Mandatory Seminars

Attend three 2-day seminars (6 hours/day) for foundational and intro teaching on all apparatus. These sessions will cover:

  • Basic
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Price: $800/seminar


4. Weekly Recap Meetings

This is a complimentary component of your training where you can deepen your knowledge on special topics such as anatomy, injuries, and body types.

For Apprentices

Embark on a guided journey from aspiring apprentice to certified professional with this comprehensive program. This path provides a structured curriculum, extensive hands-on experience, and dedicated mentorship to prepare you for a successful career.


1. Private Training Sessions

Develop your technique and apparatus skills with Abena, our senior instructor. Her personalized instruction is tailored to build a strong foundation.


A minimum of 30 private training sessions are required to begin the program. You can purchase them in bulk at a preferential rate or in several installments:

  • 30 Sessions: $4,050 ($135/session)
  • 20 Sessions: $2,800 ($140/session)
  • 10 Sessions: $1,450 ($145/session)


2. Studio Access & Practice

Gain the in-studio experience essential for your growth with extended access to our studio.

  • 12-Month Studio Access: $750
  • Log a minimum of 120 hours of observation
  • Log a minimum of 120 hours of self-practice


3. Mandatory Seminars

Attend three 2-day seminars (6 hours/day) for foundational and intro teaching on all apparatus. These sessions will cover:

  • Basic
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Price: $1,000/seminar


4. Weekly Recap Meetings

Path to Certification

As a Certified Instructor

The Pilates Apparatus Certification (PAC) is a comprehensive program designed to guide you from knowledgeable instructor to certified apparatus specialist. Your journey is a progressive and hands-on experience, ensuring you have the expertise to master the full classical studio.


1. Foundational Assessment

Your journey begins with an audition to assess your current knowledge and skill level, ensuring a personalized starting point.


2. Personalized Mentorship

Work directly with Senior Instructor Abena in private sessions to refine your technique and apparatus usage, preparing you for the full classical studio experience.


3. In-Studio Practice

Deepen your understanding by logging a minimum of 50 hours of observation and 50 hours of self-practice. This hands-on experience is essential for developing your muscle memory and observational skills.


4. Applied Practice

Once you have the fundamentals, you will begin to train clients, applying your knowledge in a real-world setting under our guidance.


5. Comprehensive Seminars

Attend three mandatory seminars covering the foundational, intermediate, and advanced levels of all apparatus. These intensive sessions are a cornerstone of the PAC program.


6. Certification

Your journey culminates with a final teaching and verbal test. If needed, you may retake the test in 4-6 weeks, allowing ample time for further practice and refinement.

For Apprentices

The Pilates Apparatus Certification (PAC) program is a clear and guided journey for apprentices ready to build their expertise from the ground up. This path ensures you receive structured training, regular feedback, and hands-on experience to become a confident and certified instructor.


1. Foundational Training

Your journey begins with a minimum of 30 private sessions with Abena, our senior instructor. After completing approximately 10 sessions, you will be prepared to move on to the next phase of your training.


2. Core Seminars

You will attend three mandatory seminars that build on each other to cover all levels of apparatus instruction. These are the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced seminars.


3. Check-ins & Assessments

Your progress will be monitored through a series of check-ups and assessments:

  • First Check-up: A review of your understanding after the Basic seminar.
  • Second Check-up: A teaching exercise to assess your practical skills after the Intermediate seminar.
  • Final Teaching Exercise: A comprehensive teaching exercise after the Advanced seminar. If needed, you may retake this test in 4-6 weeks.


4. Final Certification

The program culminates in a written and verbal test to confirm your full knowledge and readiness. If you do not pass, you may retake the test in 4-6 weeks.


5. Practical Experience

Alongside your formal training, you will gain crucial hands-on experience by completing observation hours and self-practice in the studio.
